【Sakura in the Language of Edo Kiriko — Saiho Sakura Tumbler Pair Blue & Pink】Made in Japan
■ Product Features
Hardoglass Saiho (硝子工房 彩鳳) is a Tokyo-based Edo Kiriko studio founded in 1971, operating from its workshop in Saitama under the Mitsuwaglass group — one of the most respected producers of contemporary Edo Kiriko, known for its colour range and the clarity of its hand-cut patterns. Saiho has developed a loyal collector following both in Japan and internationally.
The Sakura Tumbler Pair in Blue and Pink is one of Saiho's signature designs — a matched pair of tumblers in contrasting but complementary colours, both featuring hand-cut sakura cherry blossom patterns in the kiriko tradition. The blue and pink pairing evokes the colour contrast of sakura against a clear spring sky, and follows the Japanese aesthetic of paired objects that are harmonious but individual.
Edo Kiriko cuts are made by hand against a rotating grinding wheel — each cut is a single, irreversible movement that requires complete precision. The sakura pattern requires multiple cuts to form each petal, making this one of the more technically demanding kiriko designs. The resulting facets scatter light into jewel-like patterns that shift with every movement of the glass. Presented in a kiri box, this is a complete, gift-ready set.
■ Recommended For
Those giving a significant paired gift for a wedding, anniversary, or important occasion; collectors of Edo Kiriko with specific interest in sakura patterns; those who want the blue-and-pink sakura pairing as a visual statement; serious Japanese glass gift givers.
